 Well, with a new year, some new goals come as well. First of all the whole team of Find A Gameserver.com likes to wish everybody a happy 2007, we wish you all the best !!
In a few days we'll be happy to announce that Find A Gameserver.com will be 1 year old and of coure this means something. With this new year we would like to take the opportunity to announce a new feature. In 2007 we'll also be adding companies from the U.S.A. Over the last few months we've noticed that a lot of American companies gained interest in our website and would like to be added as well.
For this reason our development team is now working on the new feature, we hope to launch it at the end of January. So stay tuned !! |

 Evaluation a company : TIPS !! |

Since the introduction of the evaluation system a lot of users used this function. We are very happy to see that our users put the effort in writing an evaluation about a company, even though it just takes a few minutes of your precious time.
But we regret to inform you that most of the evaluations that are sent, don't meet the standards that we request for an evaluation. If an evaluation doesn't meet the standards, we'll remove it. Please note that we don't look at the grade you gave along with the evaluation, we only check the evaluation comment.
Therefore we'll give you some tips on how you should write an evaluation.
tips:
First of all, write something that can be useful to other users. If the controlpanel that you use is very easy to use and has a lot of functions, you should write about this.
If your ping is OK for most players from all over Europe, write this down, because this is useful.
Give your comments about the support, is it fast, personal, how do you feel about it yourself?
You could talk about the prices the servers charge and compare this to the quality of the total package.
The bottomline is, that we want useful information that can contribute something to the evaluation page. So this is no good example of an evaluation.
"the company is perfect, ping is perfect, price is perfect, people are perfect, support is perfect, hmm did I already mention everything is perfect ?"

| Small security changes |

 To provide even more security to our register system and the information on our website, the development team has decided to start using functions out of the gd Libary. This will have some small changes on our website.
First of all we've made sure the register system would get a randomly created confirmation code that needs to be filled out on the registration page.
Second, the e-mail addresses on your personal page and on the information pages of the gameserver companies will be printed as an image. |

 No, we are not in an inactive periode, far from it. A lot of new features will be launched this month, so keep yourself up-to-date. Today we would like to inform you about some changes that have been made. As you might have noticed the forum has been removed. We removed the forum because it didn't add any extra value to the website and it also encountered some problems linking it to the website.
Because of the termination of the forum, we had to make some changes regarding the registration and password recovery on the website. If you want to change your password, just login to the website, click on "edit member-info" and scroll down.
If you notice any strange things on the website or get an error on the website, please inform our webmaster about it, thanks.

 You might have, or not have noticed something, but today we found a small bug in the search function on the website. After a few hours this problem was solved and we are sure that this problem won't occur again.
In addition to that, we also made some adjustment in a few scripts, to execute them faster and more efficiently. A new large newspost will be posted before the end of the week, where we will lay out all the possibilities of the website and where you can find them.

| Two new features at Find A Gamserver.com! |

Today, we are happy to announce that we have added two brand new features to our website, so we can provide you with even more info.
First new feature is the introduction of the pricepage, which we have been working on for a while. When you search for a company or you just view the total list and you see this icon  it means that the company assigned someone, a GSCMP contact.
When you visit the personal page of a company, you'll notice this image  will be next to the grade image. Just click on it and you'll be transfered to the pricepage of that company.
If a company hasn't assigned a GSCMP contact yet, this company won't be able to use the pricepage feature, so we recommend every company to do so. To assign a GSCMP contact to your company, contact us at #findagameserver or use this e-mail address
Second, we have made a new search page for you. This search page is a page where companies can put up ads if they have special offers and they want you to know about. So if you want to know if any company has some special offers this month, just click here !!

| How to add your company to our website |

We've noticed that some of our visitors search for companies that aren't listed on our website. Therefore we would like to inform every visitor / company that we don't ask any money to add your company to our website, this is completely free of charge !! So please if you know a company that isn't listed yet on our website, please let us know. If you don't know how to add a company, we'll explain once again.
The only thing you have to do to get a company added to the website is inform us about it and it's very simple to do this, you only have to follow two simple steps.
First you need to be registered on the website, if you are not registered on the website then just click on this text.
When you've done that or you're already registered on our website, just logon and look at the left side of your screen. In the middle of it you'll find a button with the text "add company". Just click on that button and you'll be sent to a page with a form.
Just fill out three fields on this form and click on submit, then your request will be added to our queuelist. Once your request is in our queuelist we'll add the company as soon as possible. It's just that simple! |

 Once again our Managing Director and Founder Maarten 'imp4ct' Tibau has been interviewed by a large community website.
This time the interview was done by Remao 'Cash' Tummers, who is a top writer for the GGL
(Global Gaming League).
Once more, Find A Gameserver is put in the spotlight, an effort for which we thank the GGL. They have also been so kind to post the interview on their partnersite, ClanBase. Ofcourse we would like to thank the ClanBase crew for this nice gesture.

Our webmaster noticed that there were some small mistakes in the layout of the website when browsing with FireFox or Internet. Explorer, we've tried to solve this problem as soon as possible.
After a few hours the problem was fixed and we think that we can say everything should be looking fine in both browsers. Still, if you might notice something wrong please contact our webmaster.

| Website downtime |

Yesterday, we had a serious downtime of our website. This is the message we received from our webhost.
This wednesday we will move all our services from our datacentre space in Amsterdam to our new server location in InterXion Brussels.
We will carry out the operation between 3PM and 8PM. All NL servers and services will be unavailable during that time interval. Please note that the duration of the operation will depend on the roadtraffic between Amsterdam and Brussels. This long downtime will affect all webservers starting with the NL code.
Why is this move necessary?
- We want to offer a better service to all customers, by moving our NL servers closer to our office we will be able to respond more swiftly in case of problems.
- We are building an independent and multi-homed network in the InterXion datacentre in Brussels.
Due to certain circumstance the website went offline around 17u CET, and came back online around midnight. We apologise for the downtime. |

| Introducing: the new policy regarding evaluations |

Since the start of our Find A Gameserver.com, the website has been updated almost daily.
Over the past two weeks, we have monitored the evaluation system that is used on our website. When we did this, we came to a sad conclusion that many of the submitted evaluations were not living up to the standards we would like them to have.
In some cases, comments lacked enough information to back up a score of 100%.
After a concurring with some companies we came to the same conclusion, the evaluation system required some guidelines to improve quality on the long run.
Today we would like to present a small policy we have set up, so you all can understand why we made this change and what the poised benefits are.
From now on, every user has to give useful or informative feedback that contributes to reviewing the server companies in all objectivity and transparency. Alongside this guideline, we will oblige our users to give a qualitative evaluation with a minimum length of 50 characters.
Second, when a user submits a new evaluation our GSCMP editors will be notified that a new evaluation has been submitted. The evaluation will still be added right away to the list of evaluations of the company, but our editors will check the evaluation comment on its content.
If the content does not contain contributing information could offend the company or could start a flame, the evaluation will be deleted immediately.
Please note that our editors will not judge your comments on the score you submit with your evaluation. When your comment has been deleted, a message will be sent to your message box.
We think it's for the best of the website that we use this policy so that we can provide our visitors with the proper information they need.

Today we are proud to announce a new feature that has been added to the website. Our webmaster informed us that every registered user has the possibility to send messages to other registered users.
We'll give a small introduction that might help new users to get started. When you click on a username on the website it will take you to the personal page of this user. When you are on a personal page you'll always see 3 icons next to the personal picture  when you click on the last "envelope" icon, you'll be directly transfered to the page where you'll be able to send a message to that user.
If you receive a message from somebody you'll notice this in your control panel on the right, where the text of your message box will turn red. Click on the button to enter your message box and you'll see the new message appear. If you like to reply to a message, just click on the link that is at the bottom of the message or you can also click on the reply icon 
With the introduction of this new feature there are also new ways to communicate with the crew members. If you got any question whatsoever, just click on the username of a crewmember and send him / her a message, we hope you'll like this new feature.
So stay tuned, because we will launch some new features in the near future !!

| How to view the evaluations and adding a buddy |

Well, since you can't know everything for the first time you view something we are always glad to help out.
Since we had some remarks that is wasn't easy to find your way to view the evaluations of a gameserver company, I will explain it to you.
When you see this image somewhere  you should go over it with your cursor, in most cases you can click on it and it will take you to the page where you can view the evaluations of that company. Also on that page you'll find a link to evaluate that company yourself.
Ok, I don't know if you've all noticed it but we have a so called "Buddy" system on our website. But how does it work? Almost everywhere on the website on top of newposts, comments, evaluations, you'll find the nickname of the user, and you can click on it to view his / her info.
When you are on this page you should see this button  .
When you click on it, a request message will automatically be sent to this user. This user will receive a new message in his / her message box, this will appear in your panel on the right, you should see something like this.
Just click on it and it will take you to your inbox, there you can view the message and accept, reject the request or create a mutual friendship. When a user accepts your request he / she will appear in your buddylist. When you create a mutual friendship, this user will be added to your buddylist as well. When a user is on your buddylist, this image will appear  When you click on that button, you'll remove your buddy.

 In addition to the already large database we now have, we will be adding more than 150 servers from 7 other countries over the course of the next few days.
In total we will already have about 250 gameserver companies in our database, from more than 10 different countries. So watch the number grow !! |
